2-Day Long Range Precision Rifle Course

This 2-day course from Pilot Mountain Arms delivers a full-spectrum introduction to precision rifle shooting. Designed for novice shooters or those without formal training, the course progresses from zeroing and fundamentals to advanced topics, including ballistic software, wind formulas, and positional shooting.

Held at a purpose-built range in Rose Hill, NC, the class features 40 steel targets ranging from 100 to 1,320 yards, including reactive and self-resetting targets. Students will spend two days working with steel to enhance their shooting skills and learn ballistic solutions.

Training covers:

• Rifle setup and prone mechanics
• Confirming zero and chronographing ammo
• MOA/MIL adjustments and reticle use
• Kestrel and ballistics app integration
• Wind reading, spotting, and stage planning
• Hold-offs, multiple targets, and positional work
• Practical applications for PRS, F-Class, and long-range hunting

Expect to fire at least 220 rounds of match-grade ammo. A precision rifle (.308 or similar) with a quality optic is required, along with a bipod, rear bag, anti-cant level, and ballistic tools (such as a Kestrel or a phone app). Spotting scope and shooting mat are recommended.
